Editorial Standards
At LifeCheckIQ, we know that health information carries real responsibility. People use our tools and articles to better understand their bodies and make decisions about their wellbeing, so accuracy, clarity and honesty are at the heart of everything we publish. This page explains how our content is created, sourced and reviewed.
Who creates our content
LifeCheckIQ is built by a small, named team rather than an anonymous editorial department. Content is researched and written by founder Aikins Apreku and medical researcher and managing editor Yvonne Andison, drawing on reputable medical sources. Every article published on LifeCheckIQ is reviewed by Deborah Adotso, a General Nurse at Pantang Hospital, Accra, for clinical accuracy before it goes live. You can read more about each of us on our About page.
Our content reflects established medical consensus, drawn directly from the trusted health authorities listed below. Rather than offering opinion or unverified claims, we focus on clearly explaining what reputable medical sources say, so you can understand the guidance and discuss it with your own healthcare provider.
The sources we rely on
Our content is grounded in guidance from internationally recognised health organisations and peer-reviewed medical sources. These include:
- The World Health Organization (WHO)
- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- The National Health Service (NHS)
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Mayo Clinic and other established medical institutions
- Recognised specialist bodies (for example, professional associations for specific conditions)
Where an article makes specific clinical claims, we cite the sources used so readers can verify the information for themselves.
Our review and update process
Health knowledge evolves, and information that was accurate a few years ago may no longer reflect current best practice. To keep our content reliable, we:
- Check each article against current guidance from trusted sources before publishing
- Review and update content periodically, and whenever significant new guidance emerges
- Display when content was last reviewed or updated, where applicable
- Welcome corrections from readers and act on them promptly
Accuracy and corrections
We take accuracy seriously, and we know we are not infallible. If you spot something you believe is incorrect, unclear or out of date, please tell us at support@lifecheckiq.com. We review every report and update content where needed. Maintaining your trust matters more to us than being right the first time.
How our tools work
Our health calculators and tools use established, textbook-standard formulas and reference ranges drawn from recognised medical and scientific sources. They are designed to give general, educational estimates. Because individual circumstances vary, tool results should never replace assessment by a qualified healthcare professional.
Our commitment: education, not diagnosis
LifeCheckIQ provides general health information for educational purposes only. Nothing on this site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, or to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you have about a medical condition. You can read more in our Medical Disclaimer.
